Mobile Extendable Robot Arm (MERA)

Purpose
MERA is an inspection and maintenance robot for the inside of buildings. The robot can reach high, hidden or confined areas that are difficult for humans to access, e.g. bare pipelines and air ducts in older buildings.

Features:

  • 5 DOF (including a rotating table)
  • Total extendable length: Max 2m (Layer-1: 1.5m, Layer-2: 0.5m)
  • Mobile
  • Has a redundant DOF (it can reach a work space from various directions)
